The Approach: Queer in form
Queering Reproductive Justice is meant to be as queer in form as it is in content. Queering the genre of academic book? Sounds fancy, but what does this look like, you ask?
First, the book includes original artwork that translates its ideas into an alternative medium. This artwork was produced through an artists’ collective spearheaded by Carly Thomsen’s Research Assistants as part of this project. Check out their cool creations here.
Second, the website includes an original playable card game as well as an escape room and a trivia game. That’s three games. Or 300% more games than the average academic book. You can find out more about the QRJ companion games here.
